Our vision

According to the United Nations, human trafficking is a worldwide human rights catastrophe. In countries all around the world, more than 35 million people are suffering under some form of slavery, usually in life threatening conditions. We intend to do something about this. This worldwide crime calls for a collaborative worldwide response. Freedom Diaries tell REAL stories of REAL survivors.

We have already started the SoCal Restoration Coalition in Southern California. As we have worked with survivors, we have begun to produce our first Freedom Diary of a young survivor whose name we are changing.

Edmund Burke, an Irish political philosopher once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” With your support, the abolition of human trafficking can be a reality when we all work together. As you read, pray about joining our cause!

Our key: New Solutions

Freedom Diaries document the discovery of new solutions to sexual slavery. We tell stories of survivors and their rescuers. We believe Jesus is focused on healing broken people and setting captives free.  Our documentaries seek to highlight new restoration projects in Thailand and in other countries, raise funds and help make these new restoration centers a reality!

Providing new economic solutions is one of the major keys to this project. It isn’t enough simply to decry the condition of victims of crushing poverty. By harnessing world opinion, and by using some creativity to create economic options for the victims, we can empower our local networks to grow these enterprises and expand their impact.  In our documentary, you will be able to see how this works, how we enable the victims to give back a little of their new-found income to help sustain the restoration activities and promote change.

We also believe it’s going to be exciting to see what forms the solutions take.  In each culture, vocational training will provide unique, location-specific opportunities for these people to become economically independent.  Far more than just enabling them to do manual labor, we hope to foster enterprises which can offer real hope for growth and advancement to those who participate.  This could mean anything from cafes to art galleries to clothing stores to internet businesses.

“Wherever suffering is ignored, there will be the seeds of conflict, for suffering degrades and embitters and enrages.”

The Impact: Thousands Rescued and Restored

We believe that everybody needs a cause bigger than themselves to add worth and meaning to their lives. We envision that through The Freedom Diaries, hundreds of people will be mobilized to rescue thousands of girls from exploited situations in Thailand.

How You Can Help

For this project to succeed, we need a worldwide network of friends and colleagues who can offer their ideas, encouragement and prayers. Plus, we need funding.

If you are able to volunteer your time or ideas we would greatly welcome it.  As you can see, there is a much work to be done. This is going to be an adventure, and we welcome your help.
